NOROESTE (NORTHWEST) <<
The Argentine Northwest includes a big variety of attractions, which combine mountains, forests, valleys and gorges. Salta, known as "La Linda" (The Pretty one), allows us to enjoy not only this picturesque city but the nearby attractions, between them the famous Train to the Clouds, which gets this name for the height that takes in the viaduct La Polvorilla, where the passenger feels that it is floating literally in the air. Between the most out-standing excursions, the visit to the locality of Cafayate is a "must", covering gorges and valleys that dazzle for the colors and eroded formations, reaching this recognized zone of vineyards. Jujuy with an important historical and cultural patrimony combines ancient and modern architecture. From here, it is possible to reach the famous Gorge of Humahuaca, declared "Patrimony of the Humanity" because of the coloring and joyful sceneries. The Thermal waters of Reyes (Kings); the Calilegua National Park are other points that we can cover with horse-ridings, walks on foot or 4WD vehicles. To discover rock paintings, witnesses of ancient civilizations who populated these zone and that are considered of a big archaeological value. Tucumán and Santiago del Estero are the last two provinces that of this rich region. All the Argentine Northwest is characterized by festivals and folk traditions, which give a special coloring to the region. The possibility of practicing Adventure Tourism, spreads all along this territory, and the typical gastronomy of the region is capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates.
It is impossible to capture in words the incredible sensations that these stages leave to the tourist, that's why to cover it and to enjoy it is the best alternative.
